On the Usage of the Term "Sant Mat" and the Tulsi Sahib Connection
Very much like "Buddhism" or "Sufism" are terms used by many to refer to any number
of organizations or spiritual paths, "Sant Mat" is a fairly widely used general term for a
certain kind of Eastern spirituality, gnosticism or mysticism. Even as there are hundreds
of Sufi Orders and diverse forms of Hinduism, there are millions of people and satsangs,
thousands of ashrams, and scores of teachers or organizations in, and outside of, India
that describe themselves with the label "Sant Mat".
"Sant Mat" can be defined as: "The Teachings ('Mat') of the Saints ('Sants') or Sages" or
"Path of the Masters". In India it's common knowledge that the term "Sant Mat" was

What an actual Rattan or Ratnagar Rao history discovery would look like is this. Someone from the pages of history would get noticed as being a strong contender for this hypothetical missing link guru associated with Gobind Singh. This person would have been an adult and alive before the time of Guru Gobind Singh's passing in 1708, not somebody emerging as a guru decades later. We would then search Sikh history for any information we could find out about that person. Then comes the even more difficult step two: seeing if that same person might have had some association with Tulsi Sahib of Hathras. Simple as that. Difficult as that. A few years back I uploaded the Baba Kehar Singh book to the files section of Radhasoami Studies. He had a Sikh orientation or bias, if you will, but the upside of this is he was willing to make available a translation of a short section of Tulsi Sahib's Ghat Ramayan that hadn't been included in the other two
