Bio
Menaka graduated from the American University of Sharjah with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in December of She discovered her passion for social and environmental sustainability during her two years leading the Community Services department at her university. More so, she discovered that she wanted her career to make a long-term impact.
After graduation, Menaka completed various sustainability-related internships in Dubai among start-ups, NGOs, and even the private sector. She eventually found her ideal role as a Public Affairs and Sustainability & Responsibility Executive at Pernod Ricard Asia. During her time at Pernod, Menaka supported in implementing the Group’s extensive sustainability roadmap across fourteen markets in Asia including India and China. Farah described her mother as a unique person who shunned the limelight and remained resilient despite facing many challenges early in life. Menaka’s lack of bitterhet and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. I am Menaka, born and raised in Wayanad, a small place in the State of Kerala, India.
Wayanad is a very famous tourist destination with something for everyone. Stone age caves, an abundance of nature, adventure, wildlife etc.
My village, Mylambadi, is fortunately untouched by the hustle bustle of mindless tourism and oozes the old-world charm. It is this village which taught me that life is at its brilliant best in all its simplicity. However, after completing my studies, I wanted a taste of the city life and hence moved to Bangalore to pursue a career in Business Finance.
Living in the city made me realise the real worth of my small village. I missed my passionate and soulful life back in my hometown. After considerable contemplation, I decided to move back to my childhood home and started taking care of our ancestral farm. I started a new life, an exciting one.
