Universidad Carlos Albizu
La Universidad Albizu (en inglés: Albizu University)[1] es una centro de estudios universitarios de grado y postgrado sin fines de lucro que ofrece carreras de psicología, justicia penal, terapia del habla y el lenguaje y la patología, servicios humanos, ESOL y educación. Cuenta con tres campus: uno en San Juan, otro en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico[2] y el último en Doral, Florida,[3] cerca de Miami.[4] La universidad está acreditada por la Asociación de Facultades y Escuelas Middle States.

History
[edit]The university's history began in 1966, when a Puerto Rican psychologist and educator, Carlos Albizu Miranda, founded the Instituto Psicológico de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Institute of Psychology) in response to the need for culturally sensitive professional training in the area of clinical psychology. At the time, there were no graduate programs in clinical psychology in Puerto Rico. The University of Puerto Rico and the Normal School (later known as the College of Education) included psychology as part of the core curricula as early as 1903—but only for undergraduate studies that were heavily based on the American higher education system and it
