Isam Bachiri (Arabic: عصام بشيري - born 1 August 1977) is a Danishrapper, singer and songwriter. Formerly a member of the hip hop group Outlandish, he has worked as a solo artist in recent years.
Early life
[edit]Isam Bachiri is a Muslim of Riffian descent born in 1977 in Copenhagen, Denmark.[citation needed]
Bachiri came into contact with music in his youth through the developing hip hop scen and subculture in America.[citation needed]
Career
[edit]Between 1997 and 2017 Bachiri joined Waqas Ali Qadri and Lenny Martinez to form the Danish hip-hop group Outlandish, drawing upon the influences of their respective ethnic heritage, and in particular the Islamic faith of two of the band members.[1][2]

Outlandish is a hip-hop music group based in Denmark. Formed in 1997, it currently consists of Waqas Ali Qadri [da] and Lenny Martinez [da].
Career
[edit]Their first formation consists of Isam Bachiri, Waqas Ali Qadri [da], and Lenny Martinez [da]. All three members are religious, with Isam and Waqas being Muslims (of Moroccan and Pakistani origins, respectively) and Lenny being Catholic of Cuban and Honduran descent.
Their first single "Pacific to Pacific" was used in connection with an Amnesty International charity event. Next came the single "Saturday Night", a song that was later included on the soundtrack for the Danish film Pizza King.[1]
