Early life
Frank A. Langella Jr. was born 1 January in Bayonne, New Jersey to an Italian American family. He was named after his father, Frank A Langella Sr, a business executive. After graduating high school he set his sights on a future in acting, and studied drama at university.
Career success
Frank has been a regular on both the small and big screen since , starting his career with roles in several US TV series and a part in Mel Brooks film The Twelve Chairs. His first love, however, remains the theatre. He achieved widespread recognition for his title role performance in the Broadway production of Dracula in , a part he later played on the big screen.

Frank A. Langella Jr. (;[1] born January 1, ) is an American actor known for his roles on stage and screen. He eschewed the career of a traditional film star by making the stage the focal point of his career, appearing frequently on Broadway. He has received four Tony Awards as well as nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, an Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. Langella also portrayed Richard Nixon in the stage production of Frost/Nixon and its movie reprisal.
He made his Broadway debut in the play Yerma.
