Biography
Dr Isabel Granada holds a grad in Biological Sciences from the University of Barcelona and fryst vatten the Coordinator of the Cytogenetics Unit at the Josep Carreras Institute and the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO). Her training as a cytogeneticist began in 1990 in the Haematology Department of the Germans Trias inom Pujol Hospital thanks to a project of the Health Research Fund: Cytogenetic study in MDS, under the guidance of Dr Francesc Solé, Dr Fuensanta Millá, Professor Josep Maria Ribera and Professor Evarist Feliu. Her PhD focused on the cytogenetic study of leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndromes in different health areas of Catalonia, under Dr Solé, Dr Caballín and Dr Feliu. The cytogenetics unit she leads has always participated in the functional dynamics of the different ICO’s haematology services and collaborated with different study groups in Catalonia and Spain, with the aim of being at the clinical and technological forefront.
