Hardly anything is known about Enright's past, including his birthday, the names of his parents, and where he went to school. What is known is that Enright was born in Manchester, England, grew up in the Moss Side of Manchester, and first got into acting after he was cast in a pantomime. Enright got his first on-screen role in 1997, when he was cast as Rafferty for one episode of the military courtroom drama series JAG. Enright got his first major role in 2006, when he was first cast as an deckhand from Edinburgh in the action-adventure pirate film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Enright has also appeared in TV shows and movies such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Elegy for a Revolutionary, Miserable Lesbians, Noah, Make It or Break It, Kitchen Confidential, CSI:

Known for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), Knight and Day (2010), as well as roles in a number of other films and TV series, Michael Enright was born in Manchester, UK in 1964. He moved to the US in 1983 to work as an actor. After the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon in 2001, Enright volunteered for military service, both in the UK and the US but was rejected by both. In 2014, he was moved by video executions committed by ISIS members to again attempt to volunteer. In early 2015, he was able to join the Kurdish YPG or People's Protection Units fighting against ISIS. He returned to the US via Mexico six months later, but was turned away due to an expired visa. He went back to Syria and fought for an additional eighteen months. He was present when the ISIS capital, Raqqa, fell in October 2017.

Michael Enright (born 1964) is a British actor who has appeared in American film and television productions, including playing supporting characters in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Old Dogs, as well as in several TV series including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Law & Order: LA, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Cold Case, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, and Castle.[2] In 2015, Enright joined the Kurdish People's Protection Units as a volunteer to fight ISIL. As of October 2019, he was living in Belize and trying to obtain permission to reenter the United States.[1]
His life is the subject of the 2021 documentary film Heval, which was the first original feature-length film released by Curiosity Stream.
