    Before joining BlackRock in , Hildebrand served as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB). He was the Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Director of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), when he was appointed as Vice Chairman in November by leaders of the G[4]

    Hildebrand attended the University of Toronto, Oxford University's Lincoln College,[3] and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. He was part of a group of students that helped out during the Annual Meetings of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. There, he met leading international government officials and bankers.[3]
